Ever since OCZ’s humble beginnings back in 2002, OCZ has been on a non-stop conquest into all reaches of the enthusiast market offering everything from cooling to memory to well, of course power supplies! Despite their success, OCZ has held true to their founding philosophy, to ensure satisfaction for each and every customer.
Successor of OCZ’s Z- Series power supply, the ZX series is OCZ’s flagship unit of their current lineup. The ZX series consists of three units: the 850W, 1000W and 1250W all of which are 80Plus Gold certified, modular and from the looks of it, very serious power supplies. Today we’ll be looking at the 850W variant.
This power supply, at NewEgg, , is $179.99 and there is an available $10.00 rebate. It’s been rated at 3 out of 5 eggs which is far from a good recommendation and is very overpriced.
Please search for a much better rated power supply for the $160.00 mis-stated in this article and you’ll find several that are much better rated by actual users of this type of device.
