Just over a year ago I reviewed the QNAP TS-419U Turbo NAS. It featured a Marvell 6281 1.2 Ghz processor with 512MB DDR II memory that give it a reasonable amount of processing power. The performance ranged between 20 and 40 MB/s depending on RAID configuration and whether or not you were writing or reading off the NAS. The power consumption peaked at 42 watts. QNAPs had a pretty good NAS on their hands.

What’s the main difference between the TS-419 and the TS-419P+? For starters, QNAP has upgraded to the Marvell 6282 processor giving it an extra 400 Mhz of power. The system now works with 512MB DDR III memory and at the core of the machine we’ll find some operational efficiency.
