Samsung ML-2540 Monochrome Laser Printer
Dec 8th, 2011 | By SimonThe ML-2540 is shipped in a relatively small box; it would be very easy to carry this from the store to your car. The box shows you what the printer looks like, the print speed (24 ppm) and how many blank sheets the tray holds (250). Another side of the box gives you a few more features including the resolution of the print (1200×1200 dpi) and what the interface is (USB 2.0).

The top of the box gives you a top view of the printer and lists the contents of the box, the dimensions of the printer and the supported operating systems.

Opening up the box we see the power cord, driver CD, registration card and instruction manual sitting on top of a well protected printer. There are a few inches of Styrofoam and a lot of empty space around the printer.

At the front of the printer we have the paper tray that will hold 250 sheets. Just above the printer tray is the manual feeder. At the back of the printer we have the power outlet and the USB interface.

The sides of the printer are of no interest to the end user.

From the top view we see the dust cover over the printer and the control panel on the right.

The bottom of the printer is primarily the paper tray. There are 4 hard rubber feet that the printer sits up but it is barely elevated off the floor. They won’t provide any vibration dampening; they are merely there to lift the printer just off the ground so when you pull the paper tray out you don’t scratch up your table.

This covers the printer externally, before we plug everything in we will have a quick look at the features and specifications.
