Samsung PN50C7000 50 inch Plasma TV
Nov 17th, 2010 | By SimonFor anyone looking to jump into the 3D market but don’t necessarily have the biggest budget on the block, the Samsung PN50C7000 is a great place to start. At 50″ diagonal you won’t be complaining about a small screen, and if you are then you can step up to 64″ behemoth. The PN50C7000 brings to your house exceptional picture quality. The black level performance is the best I’ve seen and the colors are both accurate but vivid and lifelike. The integrated apps brings a ton of extra features to the table that not all competitors have, and best of all they’re free!
I must say I thoroughly enjoy the 2D performance and the native 3D playback is no different. Watching missiles fly into the screen heightens the movie watching experience to new levels. What disappointed me was the 2D to 3D real-time converter. While neat to have, I didn’t feel as if it fully delivered in creating a exceptional 3D performance. Another pet peeve of mine is the lack of 3D Glasses provided with the PN50C7000, something I thought the PN50C7000 should have had two of. So factor this additional cost in if you purchase the PN50C7000 as each pair cost another $150.
Overall though, I’m pleased with the PN50C7000. It created an experience that will soon the be standard in homes. For well under $2,000 USD you could bring home a 50″ TV and two pairs of 3D Active glasses in what would be the creation one amazing home theatre system.
