The cooler on the 7870 Fan is all black with a blue fan in the middle of the housing. The topside has open vents and you will notice the two PCI-e 6-pin power connections are located along the side, a slight change from most past AMD cards that always seemed to have them along the back edge.

Four monitors are supported out of the box with two mini Display Port, one HDMI and one DVI connections. There is nothing too exciting along the back edge aside from the fan header.

Looking through the slots on the side you can see the copper heatpipes that are the heart of the cooler.

As usual just four screws hold the cooler in place on the 7870 Fan.

Removing the cooler you can see the chipset is situated dead center of the contact area with the two large heatpipes covering most of the area of contact. The 2GB of DDR5 RAM are situated around the core in 8 separate chips.

Here is a shot at the chipset that is the heart of the 7870 Fan graphics card running at an even 1GHz. The memory consists of Hynix memory modules model H5GQ2H24MFR which is the same modules that we saw in the other 7800 and 7700 series cards from HIS. From previous research we know that these DDR5 modules are rated up to 1250MHz(5.0Gps), so that should still give us some room with the stock clocks sitting at 1200 MHz.
