Finding cooling for graphics cards and processors leaves you with a plethora of choices from active to passive cooling. When it comes to finding cooling for your memory your choices narrow drastically and this may be due to the fact that monitoring memory temperatures has not always been as easy as other components. Heat is a big enemy to the longevity of any electronic component.
Crucial recognizes this need and to compliment their range of memory modules that include thermal sensors they have a cooling solution called the Ballistix Active Cooling Fan. A simple and straight forward name for a device designed to help you get more out of your performance memory, let’s see if this cooling device delivers.
Since I would be much more concerned about cooling my CPU, I wouldn’t forego a fan on my CPU’s heatsink just to install this Memory Cooler. Just by looking at the pics I’ve already come up with 2 simple mods to allay this problem.
