Heat has long been the enemy to electronics and especially CPUs and video cards. While stock coolers may do a passable job they can often be noisy. Noctua has garnered a reputation for producing top notch heatsinks that remain quiet.
Most new coolers use 120mm or larger fans to keep things cool. The downside to this strategy is they take up more space and sometimes can interfere with other components and often make them unusable in smaller enclosures such as HTPC cases. Noctua has built on the NH-U9B heatsink with an updated model, the NH-U9B SE2. The SE2 update brings compatibility with the newest sockets and Noctua’s outstanding SecuFirm2 mounting system.
