First off, we need to mount the fan onto the heat sink. Simply take the wire bracket, hook it into the mounting holes in the fan, and then hook it into the notch on the heat sink. If you’re familiar with fan wire mounts, this isn’t much different.
To install the appropriate hardware onto the base, you pick the proper bracket. In this case, I needed the one for Intel’s CPU socket. This is where the hex key comes in; take the 4 small screws, and thread them into place through the bracket, securing them in place with the hex key.
Next, let’s put the back plate in place. Slide the 4 long bolts through the back plate and motherboard.
Moving to the inside, place a washer on the bolt, and then thread a standoff down on top of that, securing everything in place.
Simply slide the Vapor 120 down on top of that, and then thread a nut down on each bolt, completing the installation. The heat sink is fixed into place.
If the installation goes this smooth, I hope it performs just as well!
