Installing the motherboard and power supply went in as normal. The supplied black stand-offs screwed into place in their respective pre-drilled location, and the power supply slid into place without a hitch. Make note of the massive size – the Switch has enough room to easily fit an XL-ATX motherboard and the largest video cards.

Installation

If you are familiar with any NZXT’s cases, you will know how the hard drive is installed. After removing one of the hard drive caddies, simply pull out one of the 3.5″ brackets from the back, slip the hard drive in, and slide everything back into the chassis. The pins securing the hard drive are held in rubber grommets, ensuring quiet drive spin-up. Six hard drives can be installed here, so no system should be short of storage space.

Installation

To install a 5.25″ drive, first start by popping off the front cover by pushing the lever aside. Moving over to the inside, slide the switch over to the right, and pull back the locking mechanism. Then, slide the drive in, push the locking mechanism back into place, and lock it in securely by sliding the switch over to the right.

Installation Installation

Wires? What wires? The rubber grommets NZXT has included throughout the chassis has undoubtedly helped to create one of the neatest chassis’ available. The reverse side speaks volumes about how much room there is to route cables, even if it does not look as neat and orderly. Along with massive space, smooth edges, and virtually tool installation, the Switch is an absolute pleasure to work in.

Installation Installation

Pushing the power button, which has a nice click behind it, the system comes to life, and fans whir into action. Remember the LEDs around the rear I/O ports? When enabled, their soft white-blue hues light up the rear panel, making it easy to see in the often dark, wire-tangled mess behind your system.

Installation

The installation was very basic and straightforward! Does it perform just as phenomenal?
