NZXT Switch 810
Mar 25th, 2012 | By ChrisThe Switch 810 comes in a huge box, measuring 28x27x14″ (l x h x w). The front graphic is basic in its design and purpose – the attractive and empowering image of the chassis draws your gaze to its elegant angles and powerful stance.

The reverse side of the box shows a dissection of the interior, highlighting special features with a zoomed image and quick description. Along the top, a synopsis of the Switch 810 is given, reading:
Some unique features that set Switch apart is the adjustable Hybrid Fins that reduce sound or open passageways for maximum airflow. Protect your rig from dust by shifting the hybrid fins closed. Switch has a rear white light with an on/off ability, two removable HDD cages, a stealth bay, water cooling capability that supports up to triple 120/140 mm 90mm thick radiators, and potential to install up to 7 HDD. The HDD cages are equipped with two 140 pivot fans for directing airflow to the VGA and CPU. Enjoy the infinite possibilities of the Switch”

The side gives a quick run-through on all the specifications, such as fan support (included and optional), cooling clearance, and other standard case specifications. The reverse side has no print on it, and is covered in shipping labels.

After cutting open the cardboard flaps, pulling out the contents in their entirety is simple work. The Switch is wrapped in plastic, with the base and top capped with hefty Styrofoam. I am particularly in favor of using foam, as opposed to Styrofoam, because Styrofoam has the tendency to crush and crumble, whereas foam retains its original form and continues to protect.

After getting everything unwrapped, NZXT has taken an extra step and included an additional plastic layer to the glossy, plastic surfaces on the chassis.

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications and features before we get closer.
