Now it is time to get to some testing. The following system was installed and used to gather temperatures:

Control
CPU: Intel i5 760
Cooling: Swiftech Polaris 120
MB: MSI P55-GD65
RAM: Crucial Ballistix BL2KIT25664FN1869
Video: HIS HD 5870 iCooler V Turbo 1GB
PSU: Ultra X3 1000W
HD: WD 250GB SATA
DVD-Rom: Lite-On 18x DVD Burner – SATA
OS: Microsoft Windows 7
Ambient Temperature: 22-24C

Comparison Cases:
NZXT H2 Classic
Cooler Master HAF932

For idle temperatures, the system was allowed to stand at idle for 3 hours before temperatures were taken. To achieve load temps, Prime95 was run for three hours along with PCmark Vantage and the average peak temperature was recorded using CPUID HWMonitor.

Since the fans on the H2 Classic have speed controls I did testing with the fans on high and low.

Typically when a case is geared towards silence they have to give up some cooling performance to achieve that and the H2 is no different. With that being said the H2 performs well with the fans set to high and there is such a small increase in noise between low and high that unless you are looking for total silence most won’t even notice.

Under load we see a slightly larger gap in the numbers between the HAF 932 and the H2. These are still pretty good numbers and the H2 is noticeably quieter.
