NZXT H2 Classic Mid Tower Case
May 28th, 2011 | By JaredI have grown so used to seeing black (which replaced the drab tan of the past) cases it was nice to something else when I unboxed the H2. The front door has a polished aluminum insert on the front while the rest of the case if white. Once you swing open the door there are two 120mm fans and three 5.25″ drive bays.

Our first sign that the H2 is geared towards silence is the layer of sound dampening foam on the inside of the front door. The two front fans are easily removable and use a touch panel for power. This is a great feature that I wish more companies would utilize. There is a gap along the bottom that acts as an air intake for the bottom of the case.

Looking along the top there are two panels. The one closest to the front removes with a small latch and reveals a SATA dock inside. The back panel is held on with magnets and reveals a mesh fan guard for an optional fan.

Starting from the left the front consists of power button, headphone/mic jacks, USB 3.0 port, 3 USB 2.0 ports, fan speed control and reset button.

The side panels are solid white and you can see the gap continues around the bottom to allow airflow from the bottom.

Two things stand out on the back panel. First up is the USB 3.0 cable for the front. This is the best solution I have seen for a pass-through as it is routed behind the motherboard tray and has its own opening. The second is a slide out fan filter that covers the PSU and another optional fan mount.

Flipping the H2 over you can see the fan filter that stretches close to the entire length. Rubber feet surround all sides to keep the H2 in place and provide vibration dampening.
