Cooler Master 690 II Advanced
Mar 8th, 2010 | By JaredThe 690 II retains the same overall look on the outside of the original with just a few small design differences. The front I/O panel has been moved to the top along the front edge as you now have a front LED on/off switch, eSATA, 2 USB, mic/headphone ports, reset switch and power switch.

Right behind the front I/O panel is a plastic cover that slides off to reveal a hot swappable SATA bay.

The front panel easily pulls off and the bay covers all remove by depressing a tab on either side. From here you can also see that the 690 II has an all black interior, changing it up from the bare metal of the original.

The left side panel has openings for two fans while the right side has an opening for a single 80mm fan to aid in cooling the CPU area of the motherboard.

On the back the 690 II Advanced has a bottom mounted PSU, a 7+1 PCI design, 120mm exhaust fan and pre-cut watercooling holes.

The bottom feet are thick rubber that should keep the 690 II from sliding on just about any surface. They also raise the case up enough to allow air to freely flow into the PSU area.

Here you can see the top panel pops off allowing easy access to the top fan mounts (or for mounting a radiator).
