Introduction

I have to admit, when I first saw the 2CoolPC, I laughed for about

10 minutes. I really didn’t believe that such a bundle of ordinary plastic with

a built-in fan could cool my PC like many others were claiming! So I tested it out on my system.

Before I got the 2CoolPC, my CPU (P3-700) ran @ 994Mhz with the Golden Orb.

CPU temp was still rather high (44C) when I ran some benchmarks like 3DMark2000, so it wasn’t running at 150% stable. Let’s see if the 2CoolPC solved the problem?!

Here are the specs for the 2CoolPC:

Tower PC Cooling System

- Made with a 38 CFM 92x92x25 mm Sleeve Fan @ 2150 RPM

- 0.2 Amp Power draw 24,000 Hour life expectancy

(Has Y Style Molex Power Connection)

Installation of the 2CoolPC is ONE BIG JOKE!

Here’s how to do it :

1.) Open your case

2.) Clear the spot on the bottom of the case

3.) Put the 3 velcro stickers on the 2CoolPC

4.) Place it as close to the back of the case as possible

5.) Plug in the power connector (no loss of power connecors)

6.) Close your case

7.) … you did it!

I turned on my case and I saw the fan had started to turn. So I said to myself : ‘Steven, you did it again!’

I started to run some stress tests on my system to check out the real value of my newly installed toy. The results were amazing. If the laugh on my face from earlier in the review was out of pure sarcasm, it was now out of pure happiness. CPU temperature had dropt from 44C to 39C; and case temerature als drop from 30C to 27C! I also didn’t have troubles running my OC GeForce @ 145/345 (before: max 140/340)

Pros:

- Extremely easy to install (even I could do it :)

- It cools more than just your CPU (videocard, mobo, HD, …)

- Because it also cools your videocard, you can keep it’s orininal cooler & warranty

- Replaces several other case fans

Cons:

- A little bit pricey

- Rather noisy

- You have to remove it to be able to change inside your case

Conclusion:

When you experience those frequent lockups and bluescreens when you use an overclocked CPU, this is definitly the accessoire you need to solve all of your heating problems!
