Evercool Transformer 3 (HPM-12025)
Dec 19th, 2011 | By ChrisEvercool has released a mid-range CPU heat sink that performs exactly the way they intended it to. Equipped with 3 heat pipes running through slim, attractive aluminum fins, cooled by a powerful 2200RPM 120mm fan (with room for an additional 120mm fan), the Transformer 3 nudges dangerously close to the territory of performance heat sinks. It would be very interesting to see how far the Transformer 3 could go with an additional 120mm fan.

But while that extra fan is a blessing for expanding cooling performance, the Transformer 3 is held back by its 3 heat pipes. Keep in mind, of course, that this heat sink is not intended for high performance, and it is reflected in its price. Found on Newegg for $27.99 CAD, it becomes extremely apparent that anyone planning a mid-range computer build should not pass up a serious look at Evercool’s Transformer 3. At a price like that, who wouldn’t look twice?

- Advantages
- Full CPU socket compatibility
- Exceptional cooling and noise levels
- Low MSRP of $27.99
- Disadvantages
- Only one fan included
A special thanks to Evercool for making this review possible.
