The Transformer 3 comes packed away in a cool blue cardboard box, with the blades of the attached 120mm fan attempting to catch your passing glance. Framed with smart adjectives “Cooling, Shining, Silent” and a quick but thorough display of compatible CPU sockets, the Transformer 3 makes bold claims in its first impression.

Circling to the left, the Transformer 3 shows off four key features that I’ll touch down on more in a moment. Around on the right side, Evercool jumps deeper into the CPU capability list, reassuring any doubts you may have. Sockets from years ago are placed on this list, from the old Intel 478 to the recent 1155/1156 and 1366 sockets. The Transformer 3 has full support for all AMD CPUs as well.

By cutting open the back of the, the heat sink assembly can be pulled out for a closer examination. It is nestled between two thin plastic caps that have done an adequate job at keeping everything safe and secure.

All of the brackets and installation pieces were tucked away under inside the plastic cocoon, under the heat sink assembly. There is a single 120mm PWM fan accompanied with mounting brackets, bolts, screws, and washers. Anti-vibration “plugs” are also included for mounting the fan.
