NZXT Hades

Unwrapped, the Hades shows off its sculpted lines.  Wait a moment; I’ve seen that front before. Oh yeah, it looks like a double zippered leather vest with the bottom half unzipped on some busty… focus on the task at hand… sorry about that, my mind wandered into a different kind of review ;)

As seen in the picture the entire front of the case is covered in a very fine mesh that should allow air to pass through without a problem.  Even the 5.25″ drive bay covers are made out of the same mesh material. The sheer size of the intake fan is a thing of beauty.  Red LED’s saturate the white blades of the fan with an eerie glow.

Both sides of the Hades are formed and balloon out slightly, this gives the back side more room for running cables and allows for the large 200mm fan to be installed on the opposite side.

Taking a peek at the back of the unit, we see that the mesh has carried onto the expansion slot covers.  This reinforces the idea that this case was built for high airflow.

Even with the sculpted beauty of this case, I cannot help but think that the case feels a little flimsy.  The majority of the mass of this case is in the front door.  Perhaps manufacturing the Hades with thicker steel would have made for a more rigid feel.
