NZXT Hades
Feb 6th, 2010 | By StevenInside a small box I found some additional goodies that are needed for assembly. We have a few zip ties, six 5.25″ to 3.5″ hard drive brackets, the required screws, a system speaker and finally some assorted mounting hardware.
Surprisingly the inside of the Hades is very cavernous, with multiple covered passages for cable management. We also can see the 2.5″ drive sled pre-mounted in the bottom of the chassis and the “tool less” CD/DVD ROM mounting brackets. Headers include AC’97 and HD audio, SATA for eSATA, USB, power LED, HDD LED, reset switch and a power switch. Thankfully, the power LED connector is split into two pieces, so it can be installed on any motherboard. The second picture is a closeup of the 2.5″ drive adapter.
Take a look at the top of the case where the pre-installed fans are located. It seems we only get one 140mm fan, and with the white/black style of these case fans it will be difficult to find a matching second.
Now we see the single most exciting part about this case for me, the large cutout area where the CPU brackets get attached to the back of a motherboard – no more having to pull out the motherboard to change out a cooler!
Let’s throw some hardware in here and see how the Hades can perform!
