Blu-Ray Ultra HD Format Ready For 2015 Holiday Season
The Blu-ray Disc Association has just announced that it will begin licensing the Ultra HD Blu-ray technology VERY soon just in time for the holiday season. The new Ultra HD format from Blu-ray will allow for 4K resolution video (3,840 x 2,160) and up to 60 frames per second on a 66GB double-layer or 100GB triple-layer discs. The association said that they would begin issuing licenses beginning August 24th and that should mean that we could see the format in stores towards the end of September, if not sooner.
