Thermaltake V3 Black Edition
Mar 21st, 2010 | By StevenThe following system was installed and used to gather temperatures:
- CPU: Intel Xeon 3060 (Core 2 E6600 equivalent) @ Stock clocks
- HSF: Intel Stock HSF
- MB: Asus P5k Premium
- RAM: Corsair DDR2-1000
- Video: BFG GeForce 210
- PSU: Thermaltake TR2 430w
- HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 320Gb
- OS: Microsoft Windows 7
Comparison Cases:
- Thermaltake V3 Black Edition
- Danger Den Torture Rack (open air chassis)
- Antec P180
Ambient temperature was maintained at twenty degrees Celsius. For idle temperature readings the system was allowed to stand at idle for three hours before temperatures were taken. To achieve full load temperature, OCCT was run for three hours and the average peak temperature was recorded. Voltages remained the same during testing at 1.21 Volts. All temperature readings were taken using OCCT.

All three cases are within a few degrees Celsius at idle, but let’s see how the V3 fares under full load.

Managing to stay within three degrees of the other chassis under load is very promising for the V3.
