Thermaltake V3 Black Edition
Mar 21st, 2010 | By StevenOverall, the design of the V3 is simplistic but efficient. Centered in between areas of perforated mesh we find the power and reset buttons, USB ports and audio jacks. The abundance of free breathing mesh should allow more airflow inside the chassis.
Simplicity bleeds into the sides of the V3, as the left side houses a simple window to view the blue LED let fan and a small area of perforations to once again aid in airflow. The right side is completely free of any perforations or adornments.
Up top we see more space for additional fans and more perforated metal. When loaded with fans, this case should be wonderfully efficient with cooling.
Around back we see the bottom mount PSU opening and two punch out holes for water cooling just below the pre installed fan.
Something that caught my attention is the I/O card retention bracket. It appears that you can hold cards in place by simply screwing down the bracket. However, Thermaltake has left gaps in the hold down bracket for additional screws to more securely attach cards.
A small assortment of accessories comes bundled with the V3, namely a PSU filter, screws, system speaker, warranty card and owner’s manual.
