Quote of the Day
Today I accidentally stepped on a snail on the sidewalk in front of our house. And I thought, I too am like that snail. I build a defensive 'shell' if you will. Buy my shell isn't made out of a hard, protective substance. Mine is made out of tin-foil and paper bags. ~ Jack Handey

Overclockers Online @ CeBIT 2001 Journal

Welcome to the the Overclockers Online CeBIT journal! Here you will be able to read our adventures me and Steven are having at the CeBIT fare in Hannover, Germany.

CeBIT is the largest computer fare in Europe and it is rather interesting because manufacturers actually show new and upcoming stuff there! Me and Steven will bring you guys daily updates from what goes on there so make sure you check this page every day.

After the event we will bring an article of the fare also. CeBIT starts on 22nd March 2001 and ends on 28th March 2001. For more information on CeBIT, check out .

Day 1 - 21st March 2001

Hi there folks,

This little article will be our first update directly from the CeBIT fair in Hannover. Iīm sitting in a Press room next to Tim right now. After searching for a couple of hours, we found this humble room where we have access to the Internet. Normally we would have already posted an update yesterday, but when we arrived at the place where we stay during the week, we encountered some serious problems. Our first problem was that we didnīt know where to go when we arrived at Nienburg station (thatīs the place where we stay). A second problem was that, when we had found a taxi, this guy didnīt know what he was doing and he had to take us. After a couple of minutes we were finally there. FINALLY! But what Tim and I experienced to be the most important problem is the lack of knowledge of the German language. Because the fair only starts tomorrow, we canīt give you any information concerning new products YET. But as soon as we have another opportunity to update this section, we will take it! So... Iīll be seeing you guys very soon!

Bye,
Steven and Tim

Day 2 - 22nd March 2001

Today, we were invited by AMD to visit their "secret" room where they showed us the Palamino 1.533GHz and the Dual Athlon 900MHz server. The 1.533GHz CPU was running a DVD and the Dual was tortured by 3D Studio Max. We took some nice pictures of these wonderful goodies. Gotta have one!! We also saw some very interesting new stuff from manufacturers like Abit, Asus, VIA and many many others, but we will write more about these new products in our CeBIT coverage article that Tim and I will write as soon as we get back from CeBIT next week. We also met Andy from BXBoards.com and Xevito from Hexus.net ... both really nice and 'cool' guys :) They were already pimping some ladies after 5 minutes! LOLZ! Anyway, gotta go now.

Greetingz from the OCO Staff

Day 3 - 23th March 2001

The GeForce3 has landed ... We've been visiting several video card manufacturers today like Hercules, Gigabyte, Gainward, Elsa and some others; they showed us some really nice cards which amazed us a lot. We will explain some more details of these cards in our CeBIT article next week; we've also taken a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of pictures to present you. It'll be like you are at CeBIT from behind your computer. Well, that's it for now because we have to get our asses over at the ELSA Party.

Grtz and till tomorrow,
The OCO Guys

Day 4 - 24th March

Today has been a very cool day! We talked, as usual, with a lot of manufacturers but the coolest stuff we did today was go watch Kyle from HardOCP overclock the Intel P4 CPU at the Abit Booth. Kyle overclocked an Intel P4 1.5GHz all the way up to 1.8GHz with the use of a Vapochill case. The mobo was supplied by Abit ... it's the new TH7 RAID that comes with powerful overclockin options.

After the demonstration we talked with Kyle a bit and let me tell yo: he's a great guy! Anyway we took pictures and they will be posted as soon as we get back!

Anyway, that's it for today folks ... keep checking back for daily updates!!

Grtz,

Tim & Steven
