Once you pop open the lid, the BlacX is nestled between Styrofoam with a box of accessories tucked beside.

Accessories include a USB 3.0 cable, power cable, hard drive sleeves/protectors, user guide and warranty information.

From an appearance standpoint the BlacX line has retained the same general shape and design with some minor tweaks such as the power and eject buttons being moved.

The BlacX has a flap that partially covers the hard drive slot on the top. The notched portion is big enough for a 2.5″ drive to offer support while it is inserted.

The eject button has been moved to the side from previous models that had it on the front. On the back of the unit are the power and USB 3.0 connections. eSATA is not supported on the BlacX 5G.
