Fans are never sexy or garnish a whole lot of attention outside of the LED lighting some use. By sending a fan for review I think shows that Silverstone is proud of what they have and I can see why. The Air Penetrator line delivers on what it promises: low noise and air channeling. In the past the thought was that you had to deal with more noise for greater cooling abilities but the AP line is certainly changing that perception.

While the AP121 is impressive in what it does, it does carry a bit of a premium over standard fans which may be hard to convince some to pay. Since the AP121 is best suited specifically for intake applications this is an easier sell to those who want the best performance with the least amount of noise.

Silverstone has done a great job with the AP121 and has distinguished it as more than just any ordinary fan.
