Samsung SCX 5935FN Monochrome Laser Multifunction Printer
Jun 6th, 2010 | By AnthonyThe SCX-5935FN wins the award for the largest product packaging I’ve personally dealt with, but then again the printer isn’t small by any means either.

Inside we have our usual run of included accessories: documentation, cables, toner assembly and two replacement front panel labels. Neither the USB or network cable is included but most would have these readily available anyways.

Having a look at the unit the SCX-5935FN is definitely a bit bigger and depending on the environment it is to be used in it may be a tighter fit. But, this of course tends to be the case when you take four devices and combine them into one.

On the face of the unit, we have the large paper tray on the bottom, door for inserting the toner assembly then the paper output.

On the top, we have the lid, automatic feeder, controls and touch screen. With the functions of four devices along with system settings and configurations a well-designed interface is necessary.

The main screen of the user interface presents the main computer independent functions: photocopying, scanning and faxing. The fourth icon is a directory in which one can store documents on the unit’s 80 GB hard drive.

Starting with the copy screen the controls are intuitive and instantly recognizable and are much like those of any other photocopier

The scan menu gives us a few options, when connected locally through a USB connection one can scan directly to the local computer and when connected to a network, to a network computer or to an email server.
Beneath the controls, we have the paper output and door for the toner.

And below that, the paper tray.

And finally, on the back we have the power, USB, Ethernet and phone connectors.
