OCZ 4GB PC3-10666 Platinum Low Voltage Dual Channel OCZ3P1333LV4GK
Apr 20th, 2010 | By StevenSimply designed yet delivering an eye catching glimmer, the packaging from OCZ distinguishes itself from the competition by omitting the overly loud graphics found on so many current enthusiast products. The manufacturer’s logo and a small banner across the bottom denoting the low voltage requirements of this memory are printed on the front of the package.

Spinning the container onto its back, we see that one half of the package details some information about the RAM as well as OCZ’s quality assurances and world class customer support. While the second half has the brief specifications printed in eight different languages.

Both modules come clad in OCZ’s patented XTC heat spreaders that are platinum in color. A serialized sticker that contains the basic timings and part number is attached to the front of each module. The only visual difference between either side of the module is the lack of the aforementioned sticker.

Unlike the majority of heat spreaders on the market, OCZ’s come perforated. These perforations are supposed to enable the memory to run at lower temperatures by creating miniature convection currents around the RAM, therefore increasing airflow.

Not only does this perforated mesh look awesome, it functions quite well.

Adhering the heat spreaders to the modules is a very thin thermal tape; making removal of the heat spreader a difficult and dangerous task. Fortunately, for all of the curious enthusiasts, we’ve removed the heat spreader for you.
