Since the Lite-On iHBS112 is of the bulk variety, there won’t be too much for us to cover here. The drive was shipped to me in a plain plastic bag like you would get if you bought it from Newegg, NCIX or the likes. I also got a SATA cable and a copy of CyberLink BD Solution.

In a retail package you would get the drive packaged inside a nice box and the manufacturer would include a user manual, some mounting screws and maybe an extra bezel in the event you had a beige case.

The Lite-On iHBS112 looks like every other optical drive on the market; a black bezel with a steel chassis. The SATA power and data connections are at the back where one would expect. The front drive tray has a few silk screen prints indicating the media supported, an LED to indicate drive activity and a eject button.

On the top of the drive, you can see where the laser and motor is centered and on the bottom we have a label giving the usual information: UPC, country of origin, date of manufacturer, serial number, etc.

Let’s quickly go over the specifications and get to some burning!
