Lite-On eHAU424 External DVD Writer
Apr 12th, 2010 | By NivedhThe Lite-On eHAU424 comes in a red box. There’s a picture of the drive on the front. Curiously, there is no identifying information other than “24X External DVD/CD Writer”. The eHAU424 is actually the internal model number.
On the sides, we have the specifications in English and Spanish. The read and write speeds for everything are listed.
Turning to the back, we can see all the special features. Let’s take a closer look at the features and specifications before continuing to open the package.
I went to Lite-On’s website to gather the features and specifications for the eHAU424. The website is a little difficult to navigate but I eventually found the for the eHAU424.

The specifications:
The drive is capable of writing at up to 24x for DVD-R and DVD+R. DVD read speeds are 16x. Since it has “Super AllWrite”, the drive supports a wide variety of CD and DVD formats. The eHAU424 even has LightScribe support, although I can’t say I’ve ever had the urge to spend the extra money to buy a LightScribe-capable disc.
