HIS HD6850 IceQ X Turbo 1GB (H685QNT1GD)
Mar 24th, 2011 | By JaredFrom the first look you can see there is a definite change from past IceQ coolers. The IceQ X cooler sports a transparent aqua colored shroud with a matching fan in the center.
The 6850 IceQ X Turbo comes with two DVI ports, an HDMI port and display port. One six pin PCI-e plug provides the power needed and is situated along the back edge of the card.
Looking at the side you can see that this cooler uses four heatpipes to keep temperatures down.
Nothing out of the ordinary on the bottom. Four screws hold the IceQ X cooler in place.
With the cooler removed you can see the core has a good coverage of thermal grease. Once again there is nothing really too significant to note here. The base of the cooler is a solid copper plate for efficient heat transfer.
Of course here is a close up shot of the heart of the HD 6850.
Once we remove the shroud we can see the IceQ X cooler more clearly. The four heatpipes are routed in a step like fashion into the heat dissipating fins. The fan sits in a valley of sorts in the middle of the heatsink which should provide ample airflow to the entire unit.
