GMC H-80 Case
Apr 5th, 2010 | By ChrisThe motherboard stand-offs were already put in for me, so I didn’t need to worry about those. I fit the I/O motherboard panel in place, placed the motherboard down, and screwed it into place. I also hooked up all front I/O connections.

Next up is the hard drive. Simply take two of the drive rails, fit it on the sides, and slide it into place.

After that is done, pull the front bezel of the chassis off. Then, remove one of the metal covers, slide the drive in, put in two screws to secure, and replace the front bezel. So far, this is very straight forward.

Placing the power supply unit in place was a cinch – just place it on the rubber feet, and screw it into place. As you may notice, however, is if you have a larger power supply, it may get in the way of the secondary fan you may want to install at some point.

Here is the final installed product! There is plenty of space within the chassis, for sure. I didn’t come across any sharp corners that could potentially cut my fingers or wires.

Remember the front display? After pressing the power button, the LCD “screen” lights up, displaying temperature (from the probe), with the power indicator on the left. The HDD activity indictor is to the right, but I couldn’t get a clear shot of it blinking constantly.

Zooming back out again, here is the system in its glowing entirety! The massive 250mm LED fan glows in its slow rotation, relatively speaking, and the front 120mm intake fan fills in the front very nicely.

This is an attractive case! Gamers and enthusiasts alike should be very interested in these looks and features; however, the hardcore persons out there will know where to really look, and what really matters in the end – the cooling performance. Read on!
