The first order of business was installing the second fan which just took a few seconds using the rubber fan mounts. While no screwdriver was needed using pliers made it quick work to pull the mounts through the holes in the fan.

Next you choose the appropriate mounting brackets for your socket, in my case socket 775.

If you have a decent size cutout in your motherboard tray, installation can be performed without removing the motherboard however either way you will have to hold the Frio in place with one hand while attaching the retaining nuts on the back side. It wasn’t too difficult but I prefer methods that allow you to install with the motherboard laying on a flat surface.

One thing that didn’t really occur to me until I installed the Frio with both fans was the lack of 3 pin to 4 pin power adapters. Unless you have two open fan headers on your motherboard you are going to need some adapters and it would have been helpful for Thermaltake to include them.

The Frio does make an attractive cooler once installed and with a large footprint you will need to ensure you have enough room inside your case.

With the Frio successfully installed it is time to test it out.
