As we saw from the packaging the Frio has black shrouds along with a white bladed fan. Two red bars that resemble handles run along either side at the top for aesthetic purposes. The Frio comes with one fan installed so if you choose to use the dual fan configuration you will need to install the second fan yourself.

From the side you can see the 5 heatpipes that angle up on either side of the base.

Here is a slightly closer view of the bottom which comes covered with a protective plastic film.

The plastic shrouds are held on with tabs that snap into place. The four slots are for installing the fan using the included rubber fan mounts.

A little word of advice, if you are going to remove the shrouds for any reason be careful as I didn’t realize until after I took these pictures that the sides of the heatsink had cut the fingers on both of my hands as evidenced by the small red stain in the second picture. With the shrouds removed you can see that the fins slope down slightly along the sides of the tower.

While the Frio comes with one fan installed, Thermaltake includes a second fan. Each fan uses a 3 pin connector for power and has a fan controller allowing you to adjust from low to high.

Now that our tour is over it’s time to get down to business and install the Frio.
