Synology DiskStation DS210+ Network Storage Server

We’ve collected a lot of data so where does that leave us? For starters, hard drive space is incredibly affordable and it makes sense to increase your network file space to as big as possible. If you only have 100GB then I have to say that you are way behind. At last check I’m approaching the 8TB capacity and making good use of every GB. With so much data access becomes an issue. It doesn’t make sense to keep two or three computers on so everyone else on the network can read the data. What you need is a fast and affordable NAS unit. Here’s where Synology comes into play.

Synology ds210+

The DS210+ can manage up to 2x2TB drives, a phenomenal amount of space for a small and medium business user or someone like me with a massive home network, and I know there are many more like me out there! The performance of the DS210+ speaks for itself, it’s fast. We are at the point where Gigabit technology will soon be the limitation on NAS units. The DS210+ puts out 110MB/s read and close to 80MB/s write when the theoretical maximum of Gigabit is only 125MB/s. How will Synology improve upon what they have now is anyone’s guess.
