Spire TherMax Eclipse II

The Eclipse II is a fine example of modern engineering put into effect. Boasting incredible features such as the five 8mm heat pipes, dual fans, and dimpled surface, the competition in the air cooling market just got stiffer. Coming out on top is a feat the majority of heat sinks can’t pull off.

Even though performance means a lot, noise levels are also something to take into consideration. This is where the Eclipse II loses a few points. There is always the option of turning the fans down, but then you would lose performance; it’s a tough balance. It’s hard to recommend this high performance model for anyone looking for a silent PC, but as for everyone else who doesn’t mind a little noise, and wants cool temperatures and high performance, this is a top-tier product you should consider.

  • Advantages

  • Simple but attractive design
  • Full CPU socket compatibility
  • Great cooling performance
  • Dual fans included
  • Disadvantages

  • Loud with both fans
  • Poor packaging

A special thanks to Spire for making this review possible.
