SilverStone RAVEN RV02-E Case
Feb 9th, 2011 | By SimonHere’s a breakdown of everything I’ve installed.
- Control
- CPU Intel i5 760 @ 2.80 Ghz
- Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Pro
- Memory:
- GPU: Sapphire ATI HD4850x2
- PSU: Cooler Master Real Power Pro 850W
- Hard Drive: Corsair Force Series F180
- Cooling: Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
- O/S: Windows 7 x64
- Cases:
- – High Speed Air Penetrator
- – Low Speed Air Penetrator
- Open Air
To get load temperatures I started the PC up and fired up OCCT for 2 hours to get the load temperatures. After the first hour the temperatures had stabilized. The temperatures were recorded from CPUID Hardware Monitor.

In most cases that I’ve worked with I find the Open Air configuration to be more efficient as the heat is able to radiate outwards without any interference as there is nothing above each component. However, the RV02-E is actually more efficient. With the motherboard installed in a 90° angle, it allows the hot air to rise out of the case with the aid of the three Air Penetrator bringing in fresh cold air. The numbers don’t lie; the RV02-E is an excellent case when it comes to cooling performance.
With the vibration dampening features in use and the specially designed Air Penetrator with the golf ball dimples, the case itself runs incredibly quiet. The fans barely add any extra noise and the primary maker is my Arctic Cooling Freezer 13.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the performance of the SilverStone RAVEN RV02-E.
