In these days, most hardware is plug’n'play. You could plug the Naos 3200 gaming mouse into your system, and you are good to go. But as with every gaming peripheral, the real features are unlocked when you load up the necessary software. Mionix did not include the software with this mouse, but the 2.26mb file is easily downloadable from their website. At the time of this review, the software version is 1.07. Let’s check it out.

The software only allows you to have one profile, and there are three different tabs for personalization and adjustments. On the first page, appropriately named “Mouse Settings”, we can change any button assignments, double click and scroll speed, and pointer acceleration.

Software

On the next tab, “Custom Settings”, it becomes clear that the only LED color options are red, green, and blue, and are directly associated with whatever dpi level you have it set to, with 800, 1600, and 3200 dpi being your options for speed adjustment. There is also the option to increase or decrease polling rates from 125Hz to 1000Hz, and to turn the LED effects on or off.

Software

Next, we have “Macro Settings”. Simply click “Start Record”, start hitting keys and pressing buttons, and stop the recording. There is your new macro!

Software

Lastly, we have ourselves the Support page. Here we have access to online support, and check-ups on new software and firmware updates.

Software

Again, while the mouse is still functional without the software, it becomes something entirely different when you unlock its true potential.
