Corsair Vengeance 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Feb 12th, 2011 | By SimonThe Corsair Vengeance would be impossible to miss at a retail store. Printed right on the front of the package is the word VENGEANCE in bold. At the top right we see the total capacity of the kit and at the bottom right we what combination of memory gives you the total capacity. A picture of the kit is also printed on the front of the package along with the support processors. On the back of the package we have a short paragraph about the Corsair Vengeance and two windows into the package show the specifications printed onto the label of each DIMM.

To prevent any tampering of the package at the retailer or during shipment Corsair uses two stickers to seal the openings of the box.

Once you open up the package each DIMM is individually sealed and protected.

The heatsinks are made out of aluminum and are fairly tall in height. In some cases this may cause some interference with CPU heatsinks. I think with the 1.5v rating Corsair could have gone with smaller heatsinks but the extra material is nice to have as the process of overclocking and increasing the voltage for additional speed will add some more heat.

The heatsink sandwiches the PCB and heat is transferred using thermal tape. From what I can see the contact is very even and shouldn’t produce any hot spots.

Since it’s not what’s on the surface that matters, let’s move on to the specifications.
