The market for SSDs only continues to climb and thankfully the prices have starting to go down to the point where it is competitive and affordable to the end user. Usually this means something: the product is outdated and stores are getting ready for something new. What is exactly new around the corner is anyone’s guess. Lately, SandForce has been all the rage and at the start of the year we were still looking at prices well beyond the average consumer’s reach. Thank goodness that has changed!

Early adopters of the SandForce SSD probably purchased a Limited Edition drive by OCZ. In the few months after the initial release, we have two more OCZ flavors of the SandForce SSD. We have the Vertex 2 which is the premium brand and the Agility 2 which is more for the mainstream variety. Tonight, I feature the Agility 2 and will have a chance to pit it against many of the older and much more affordable SSDs on the market.
