Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W and Toughpower 1200W

Besides the fact that these units have been for quite some time been sitting on the back burners here, they’ve also been on the market for a while. We all know, the computer industry isn’t one to wait and loves nothing more than to push out the newer, shinier latest and greatest. Still however, although aged, the Toughpower and Toughpower XT lines are still relevant today as ever.

Toughpower XT 875W and Toughpower 1200W

The Toughpower XT 875W, though being the smaller and more humble of the two should hardly be ignored. It is a nifty unit. Priced generously in the $150 range, it is a great buy and has plenty of bang per buck. Definitely, a solid power supply and an excellent pick.

Toughpower XT 875W and Toughpower 1200W

Of the two, the Toughpower 1200W is the one to show its age the most. Priced at $350, without a doubt it is an expensive unit. There aren’t too many power supplies that can command such a price anymore, given the amount of excellent units out there, even in the 1000W+ range. That said, the Toughpower 1200W is a solid power supply. Line regulation is top notch; the unit looks great and comes with a nice array of accessories. The only thing we can really fault the unit on is that well, it can get a bit noisy when things warm up.
