What would an 80Plus Gold power supply be without an appropriately gold themed package? Nothing of course.

But wait! There’s more!

Cables, screws, documentation and wire wraps! Not to sound too too excited, but I do honestly appreciate wire wraps.

The unit itself is sharply finished in a matte black coat of paint with a matching black fan and grill. The finish may be simple, but it does look good.

On the front of the unit, we have a single large Yate Loon 140mm fan which is thermally regulated and can push a whopping 140CFM at about 49 dBA if asked nicely.

Despite being an 80Plus Gold rated power supply, OCZ has opted to use relatively large heatsinks which is a bit of an uncommon sight these days, but still, definitely welcomed. Teapo and CapXon capacitors are used throughout the unit.

  1. This power supply, at NewEgg, , is $179.99 and there is an available $10.00 rebate. It’s been rated at 3 out of 5 eggs which is far from a good recommendation and is very overpriced.
Please search for a much better rated power supply for the $160.00 mis-stated in this article and you’ll find several that are much better rated by actual users of this type of device.
See all those items listed to the right under “MORE FROM OCZ”? Those are the freebies that this site will lose out on if they gave a completely unbiased and honest review. Caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware.
