It is odd to see an OCZ power supply unit priced as if it’s a bottom of the barrel type power supply, but here we have it, the ModXStream Pro 500W available for about $60 dollars holds quite well against the bigger, more expensive players out there.

Despite our initial worries of components; questionable heatsink and suspect capacitors the ModXStream made it through our tests with respectable numbers. While it isn’t feasible for us to determine the quality of the unit for prolonged use, our tests showed that the unit runs cool. While we’ve definitely seen better line regulation, the unit stayed well within defined ATX specifications and given the price, the ModXStream Pro is definitely an attractive unit worth considering.
