There is never enough time in my day and the last thing I would want to do is find my tools to assembly computer components. Thankfully the EX231W-BK is completely tool-less. The base screws into the stand and can be tightened with your fingers.

The stand then latches into the back of the monitor. It clips right in and is held in place with the spring-loaded latches. The total assembly time for the monitor is less than 5 minutes! To disassemble the monitor you just release the quick-release lever. If you just want to carry the monitor around, the handle is recessed to avoid damage to the bezel and screen.

Power, USB and video input are all connected to the back of the EX231W-BK. I mentioned earlier that the EX231W-BK uses a power brick but with the bracket clipped onto the stand, it doesn’t get in your way and you get the benefit of having a very thin monitor.

It’s hard to show that the monitor can swivel since we have a circular base, but take my word that it does. The EX231W-BK is also capable of tilting the screen up 30 degrees and down 5 degrees in addition to raising the height about 11cm.

Here’s a front and back look of the EX231W-BK.

Once the monitor is physically installed and connected to your computer, there are no drivers to install. Everything can be adjusted with the on-screen display.
