Corsair Gaming Series GS800 Power Supply
Dec 2nd, 2010 | By AnthonyThe package is styled in the theme of well, a Corsair power supply and colored blue.

The package isn’t particular interesting, but I hope you didn’t come to read only about the package! Also included is documentations, power cord and screws.

The unit is finished in the typical Corsair nature. The body is finished in black throughout, cables sleeved in black mesh with matching black connectors and heat shrink. As always, a good looking unit.

The large 140mm fan on the bottom of the unit should do an excellent job acting as an exhaust for the computer system, and cooling the power supply by drawing air from the case into the power supply and then through the perforated black end.

As mentioned earlier, the fan is illuminated by LED lighting. The lighting controls are towards the back and allow users to change the color of the fan or turn the lighting off entirely.

Having a quick look at the connectors, first we have a typical 20+4 pin motherboard connector along with two 4 pin connectors.

Next up we have the PCI Express connectors; the unit is equipped with four 6+2 pin connectors throughout so there is no need to differentiate between six and eight pin connectors.

We’ve got a health count of eight SATA connectors.

Lastly, for peripherals, we have eight 4 pin connectors and two floppy drive connectors.

To wrap up our look our look at the unit before we head into testing, we’re going to have a peak inside.

Like many recent Corsair builds, the GS800 is a CWT built unit.

Throughout, we have Samxon and Teapo capacitors.
