Quote: The SilverStone SST-HDDBOOST is a very simple device once you read just th e first couple pages of the manual, being practically PnP in a set it and f orget it type of manner. The HDDBOOST gives any hard drive the boot times o f an SSD without sacrificing hard drive capacity, write wear on the SSD or the complications of having to change file paths when you would run program s off a secondary hard drive. QUOTE: System builders are at a crossroads of sorts when it comes time to choose a storage solution. Do you go for balls-to-the-wall performance and slap yo ur wallet silly by investing in a high performance solid state drive (SSD), or are you better off picking up a high capacity, yet slower performing ha rd drive for a fraction of the cost? There isnt a clear cut answer, but th anks to SilverStone, there might be an alternative. What if you could have both performance and capacity, and not have to spend a fortune to get them?

SilverStone produces a variety of products from cases and power supplies to coolers and storage enclosures. With the HDDBOOST, the basic concept is that we are combining the storage capacity of a traditional hard drive with the speed capabilities of a solid-state drive. That alone would be a good reason to look into the HDDBOOST but furthermore this device is targeted at users who have an existing system and would like a speed increase but dont want to reinstall the operating system and start fresh. SilverStone claims that an existing host drive can see an increase in performance of up to 70%.
