After the streamlining of the USB interface, manufacturers started to take advantage of the latest interface and started to add extras on the boards as standard that had never really been seen before. This would be to include media and volume controls and then as technology also took leaps forward, the introduction of LCD screens, macro keys, touch controls and backlights.

Gigabyte may be a name known to some due to their motherboards, but it seems the company has recently decided to venture into the over saturated peripheral market with the release of the Gigabyte Aivia K8100 keyboard. This keyboard – similar to their recent motherboards – is aimed at the enthusiast computer crowd. With features such as 20-key simultaneous anti-ghosting as well as up to 100 programmable, on-board macros, this keyboard is clearly for the hardest of hardcore gamers.
